How much money can I make as a direct seller?

This is a difficult question to answer because it really depends on you. How much time are you willing to put into your business to make the kind of money you want? Unfortunately, there is no tried and true method for making money in direct sales, except making goals and committing yourself fully to those goals. Make sure those goals are specific, measurable and realistic. If you want to make full-time money, then you will most likely have to put in full-time hours. And you must be a salesperson to everyone – family, friends, coworkers, and even strangers. Also, there’s plenty of other work that’s involved to be a successful direct seller such as placing product orders, attending training sessions, recruiting distributors and doing all of the paperwork that comes with running a business.

How much does it cost to start a direct sale business?

The amount of money it takes to start your own direct sales business depends on the company you sell through. Prices range from $99 to $999, and sometimes even more. Also, be aware that sometimes there are other monthly or yearly fees that you’ll pay once you’ve started. Often, you’ll get a start-up kit. Before you commit, ask questions like, “What kind of training materials will I get with this price? How many samples will I receive? Is there a monthly or yearly website fee included with this fee?

Keep in mind, whatever you spend you can write off in your taxes. NFICA offers seminars on this and other tax-related topics.
